This is the latest portrait I shot for Radio On The Real. It’s Michelin starred chef Edi Fraundeder of Seasonal, Edi and the Wolf, and The Third Man. For a tall man wielding a menacing blade, he was super friendly. He even invited us to stay and have dinner and drink. We had to rain check as we were on a tight schedule, but hopefully can take him up on the offer soon!

Last week I shot Fiona Byrne for the latest podcast for Radio On The Real. We showed up to shoot her in her place, which was a super cute little apartment in the Lower East Side, but realized we were totally over packed with gear. I hadn’t realized that it was going to be so small (I’ve gotten spoiled in my Brooklyn loft). Fiona was a hospitable team player and let us sort of take over the space so we could shoot these. I have no idea who Ralph, Nathan, and Pilar are, but when my crew and I showed up to shoot at yesterday’s location, it turns out that hard hats were necessary while we were scouting for the best spots. Those three guys weren’t in for the day, so we were their proxy.

I got a chance to meet and shoot writer/director/musician Rayya Elias last week for the latest episode of the Radio On The Real podcast over at onthrealny.com. We shot her in her Chelsea crash pad and during the hour or so I became a fan. She is one of those survivors from the crazy 80’s with the knack to tell her story well. Have a listen to her tell some of it over here. She has a memoir coming out next month and I’ll be sure to check it out.

I’ve had to sit on my hands for a couple of months because I was waiting for my client Erica M to get a chance to let the shots loose on the public first. She has been starting to get them out in some shows in New York and Paris recently so we get the go to let you see! I got the chance to shoot some sexy hot legwear from her new Hedon collection. This will be her collection advertising and look book imagery. The real treat to this one was I got to have my wife, Shami, produce the job for me (yes, she was on set!).

Following a recent production, some of us drove back across country from Southern California. After almost running the family truckster out of gas (when you are down to the last 1/8th of a tank and in Utah when it’s 3 degrees, stop at every gas station and top it off!!) and surviving off of a shared bag of Sun Chips we came through Spotted Wolf Canyon at dusk on the way down the pass into Green River (that was where the nearest restaurant was according to the gas station attendant 98 miles before this point), we had to stop and take in this view!

I’ve told you all before about my “Travels with Roger“. I know I have and you’ve paid attention right? Every now and then I get the opportunity to do some collaborative work with a production team made up of other photographer/creatives who take us for some big location gigs. The last leg of this on-again/off-again journey found us driving, post Sandy, across the big ole’ U.S.of A. At one point in Utah I turned around and noticed the rest of my traveling crew, none other than the legendary Waverly Gang, doing what they do best, dorking it up…
